A prominent AI research lab is seeking skilled professionals to join a short-term initiative focused on enhancing AI capabilities through spreadsheet data creation. This remote role offers the chance to work alongside coding specialists and AI researchers, contributing to the development of intelligent Excel agents. Ideal candidates will leverage their advanced Excel proficiency to simulate real-world usage, translating natural language prompts into precise spreadsheet actions. This project presents a unique opportunity to influence AI training while refining expertise in structured workflows and data manipulation.
Core Responsibilities
- Translate natural language instructions into accurate spreadsheet manipulations using Excel’s native tools
- Document each modification in comprehensive, step-by-step changelogs
- Utilize Excel’s “Record Actions” feature to automatically generate Office.js scripts
- Collaborate with AI researchers to ensure data quality and relevance for training purposes
- Adhere to structured workflows while accurately replicating complex instructions
Required Expertise
- Proven expertise in Excel’s advanced functionalities, including PivotTables, formulas, charts, and data validation
- 2–6 years of practical experience in analytical, financial, or technical fields involving Excel
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong documentation skills
- Ability to follow and execute structured workflows with precision
- Familiarity with Excel’s Automate tab and macro recording is highly desirable
Project & Compensation
- Expected time commitment: approximately 10–25 hours per week
- Project duration: around 1 month, with potential for extension based on performance
- Compensation rate: $80 per hour for qualified candidates
- Contract type: Independent contractor with flexible, remote scheduling
